Santa Rosa County
Santa Rosa County includes Gulf Breeze, Jay, Milton, Navarre, Navarre Beach and Pace. With more than 154,000 residents, Santa Rosa County continues to grow.
Santa Rosa County is home to one of only ten national seashores in the country; Gulf Islands National Seashore features eight miles of undeveloped beaches and dunes alongside Navarre Beach. “Home to towering dunes, nesting sea turtles, migratory birds and other wildlife, the park provides an opportunity to see the Florida coast at its best,” according to FloridaBeachestoRivers.com. In addition to housing one of only ten national seashores, Navarre Beach’s pier is the longest in the whole Gulf Coast; a great place to fish.
The county also offers multiple opportunities to experience the outdoors and the wildlife that roam within Santa Rosa County. In the southern portion of the county, the Gulf Breeze Zoo is a 50-acre facility that features animals from around the world. Guests can enjoy the zoo while walking through the gardens, feeding and petting the animals, walking the boardwalk overlooking the free range preserve of wildlife, and/or taking a train ride around the grounds. Traveling to the north end of the county, Milton’s Blackwater State Forest and Park is known as the Canoe Capital of Florida; adventurists can enjoy birding, camping, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking trails and zip-lining.
These are just a few of the many reasons to visit and/or reside in Santa Rosa County. The county offers a variety of activities with “Navarre Beach’s miles of undistributed gulf and sound waterfront, Milton’s network of rivers and creeks, and the county’s 62 lakes,” FloridaBeachestoRivers.com.
